Amelia Sargent Presenting at ALI CLE Legal Issues in Museum Administration 2019
Amelia Sargent, senior associate, will be attending and presenting at American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) Legal Issues in Museum Administration 2019. Her presentation on March 21, titled “Think Before You Send: Maintaining Privilege in Email Communications with Boards,” is covering the hidden risks of email communications and how to mitigate them as part a lawyer’s requirement to stay abreast of technology and best practices to adhere to the ethical duties of confidentiality and competence.
The theme of the ALI CLE Legal Issues in Museum Administration 2019, taking place March 20-22 in Washington, D.C. and co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution, is diversity. The conference will explore diversity through a variety of lenses including increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the museum field and programs, and diversifying collections. As the chair of Willenken’s art, cultural, and educational institutions practice group, this is Amelia’s seventh year attending the conference.
