Willenken Attorneys Give Litigation Tips and Tricks in CLE Presentations

Willenken attorneys conducted two CLE presentations on Sept. 13 as part of the firm’s sponsorship of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).

Paul Loh led a session with local counsel Kevin Murch of Perez & Morris LLC, Megan Frient of The Procter & Gamble Company, and Sara Sudkamp of The Kroger Co. for the ACC Southwest Ohio Chapter at MadTree Brewing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. The presentation, titled “Primer for Successful Litigation Management: 10 Ways Experienced Trial Counsel Can Help Your Company Obtain an Optimal and Efficient Settlement Without Going to Trial,” explained how the best way to settle a case favorably is not by preparing to settle, but by preparing to go to trial.  The event concluded with a social hour and brewery tour, as well as a souvenir pint glass for attendees.

Eileen Ahern, Megan O’Neill, and Justin Goodwin were joined by local counsel Marian Vetro of T-Mobile for their presentation at the ACC Washington Chapter 2nd Annual Business Summit in Redmond, Wash. One of seven presentations during the full-day conference, “The In-House Counsel’s Consumer Class Action Defense Checklist” offered ways for in-house counsel to minimize both exposure and disruption to a client’s business when faced with their next class action.  Attendees received a tangible checklist, along with practical tips regarding strategies to consider and common pitfalls to avoid.
