Pro Bono
Print PDF Email this pageAs a certified minority-owned business, our Firm feels obligated to give back to the community through pro bono legal work. Firm attorneys also serve in various minority bar associations such as the Hispanic National Bar Association, Japanese American Bar Association, South Asian Bar Association, Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association, and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).
Our Projects
Our lawyers donate hundreds of hours each year to pro bono work. Indeed, up to ten percent of all billable hours can be dedicted to pro bono endeavors. Below is a representative sample of our projects:
- Currently representing an indigent client whose identity was stolen and used by third parties as part of a foreclosure scam that affected hundreds of homeowners throughout Southern California in lawsuits prosecuted by those homeowners. The third parties have been indicted by the U.S. Attorneys Office.
- Represented a Bangladeshi woman who was sexually assaulted by a government official and persecuted for attempting to report the crime to the police. She was seeking asylum in the United States.
- Represented two women seeking to obtain citizenship status without the aid of their abusive U.S. citizen spouses under the Violence Against Women Act.
